A Working Model
Updated: Oct 29, 2018
My name is Angelina Hickey.
I am 16 years old and I have been modelling with Reel management for 3 years now. I started modelling with Reel by undertaking a "print and runway" modelling course. I was then selected to do the professional model course. It was very positive and a confidence building experience.
I then started working for Reel modelling in fashion parades at the Gold Coast show, Southport sharks and for local gold coast stores as a professional model.
In 2016, I entered in the Aboriginal Model Search competition and won the Gold Coast division for my age group. I was nominated as the representative for the Gold Coast and competed in the Grand finals in Sydney, but my biggest achievements include modelling at Melbourne fashion festival in 2017 and 2018. It was a truly incredible experience.
I also had the opportunity to work with Elsa Dillon, an internationally published and famous Australian photographer. My photographs were featured as a published editorial in New York Promo magazine, which was amazing. Currently, I’m learning to become a modelling teacher and it has been really rewarding to see how far I have come from when I was a student just a few short years ago. Also to see the girls’ and boys’ confidence build throughout the term has really helped me see that I can be an inspiration to others. I am also running the Reel Kids Instagram account which is a learning curve in new skills of marketing and social media. I am looking forward to the future with Reel, teaching students what I love, running the Instagram page as I can expand my knowledge on marketing and doing fashion shows and photoshoots as I love meeting new creative people. Who knows? I might get to walk the runways of New York soon too. Thanks for reading a little about me and where I am at right now.
